Firefighters normally wear over 40 lbs. of protective clothing as they work to extinguish a fire. With this gear they must climb ladders, pull hoses and be prepared to rescue persons from burning buildings. They are trained in principles of extinguishing fires and are certified to high levels of proficiency. To maintain this proficiency, training is frequent and diverse. |

Department Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians respond to over 350 calls for aid each year, a count that continues to increase annually. These professionals respond to your medical emergencies and provide the highest level of pre-hospital care available. All EMS personnel are licensed by the State of Michigan and must renew their license every three years, by submitting proof of having completed required training activities. |
